Shahrukh Khan must be breathing easy. His ‘Don 2′ didn’t just open well, it also managed to sustain itself well over the weekend and then the dreaded Monday to ensure that it would now be a clean hit at the least. With around 50 crore coming in it’s opening weekend, the film has seen the best start ever for a film released on a non-holiday period. Even otherwise, the film has done quite well and though one does assume that at least 5 crore more could have been gained if not for the ‘Ra. One’ backlash, the collections in hand are still good enough to ensure a healthy status ahead.
The film wasn’t spared of it’s share of hiccups though. There was slight negativity that had started setting in the week leading to the film’s release and by the time Thursday evening press shows concluded, there was the usual round of adverse commentary from mischief makers that started making the rounds. Thankfully this didn’t matter much to those who were indeed waiting to catch the flick as they flocked in dozens by the time Friday came to a close. On the flip side reviews weren’t any helpful as quite a few ranged from average to below average though there were some that had good things to say as well.
Audience feedback though was much better than critical response with many finding Farhan Akhtar’s slick treatment to the plot quite interesting with added advantage of watching a vintage Shahrukh Khan. While response here ranged from good to very good, there was also a (relatively smaller) segment of audience which were left disappointed with what the film had to offer. It is due to this very reason that the film never went full steam ahead and had to settle down as a success which was good, though not earth shattering.
With the first major milestone of scraping through the weekend pretty much surpassed, the next immediate question is whether ‘Don 2′ would break the 100 crore barrier or not. Well, the answer is – ‘Yes’. The way this film has managed to do well on Monday as well, it is quite clear that the film is finding good audience for itself. With coming weekend coinciding with holiday season and no new release round the corner, expect a reasonably healthy addition to the film’s total from Friday to Sunday.
In fact the film should cross the 100 crore mark within two weeks and post that it would be closely observed if it manages to surpass 115 crore total of Shahrukh’s biggest grosser till date, ‘Ra. One’.

When a lady journalist asked him about the kissing scene in the film Hrithik told her , ‘Ma’am there was no kiss in the scene but if you still insist, it means you don’t know how to kiss! Aap aise kiss karte ho?
But that was not all.. the handsome Hrithik even asked the lady to come and get kissing tips from him.
He said, “Why don’t you come here and I will demonstrate to you what an actual kiss is!” needless to add the audience where in split and the lady blushed while her colleagues went red in jealously.
Well before this Emran Hashmi was enjoying the status of the best kisser in Bollywood but he was not willing to give tips to any.

AR Murugadoss directed ‘Thupaki’ is shooting at a brisk pace; thanks to the dedication and commitment of its lead star Vijay.Vijay will be portraying a sleek and suave avatar with short hair and a toned body for this film, sources say. This film, as the name suggests, is touted to be a suspense thriller. At the moment the film’s team is shooting at various locations from Mumbai.
The ‘Thupaki’ director recently was lavish in his appreciation for his lead star. He revealed that Vijay is a pro who is available at the sets right from dawn to dusk. The film is being shot at real time locations. So the team is taking great care and punctuality in shooting, otherwise the shooting spot would be brimming with commuters.
Vijay has been reported to be shooting for this film non-stop. The actor recently attended the audio release of his film ‘Nanban’ that was held in Coimbatore. This film too has musical notes from Harris’. For this, Vijay took a break from shoot, that too after completing his portions for the day in the morning and then he flew down to attend the function, sources reveal.
‘Thupaki’ sees Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal teaming for the first time ever. The film has cinematography by ace cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan and is produced by Thanu.
One of Ajith’s favorite directors Vishnuvardhan is all set to direct Ajith again. Good news for music lovers is – this soon-to-be-titled venture will have music by Vishnu’s lucky mascot, Yuvan.
While there were reports in some circles of the media that Yuvan might not be doing the music for this Vishnuvardhan film, the director has quashed all such news as baseless rumors and re-confirmed that the film will have music by Yuvan.
The director is also believed to have revealed recently that all his films with Yuvan’s music have always become popular because he neither intervenes with the musician’s tunes nor gives him ideas.

Bharathbala was a popular name all over India when the country celebrated its 50th year of independence in 1997. For he was behind the celebrated ‘Vandemataram’ album by AR Rahman, which was aired and sung with patriotic fervour from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
Some time before, there was a talk that Bharathbala was planning to do a multilingual feature film with Kamal Haasan and A R Rahman, titled ‘The 19th step’. However, the project failed to take off due to various reasons.
Now we hear that he is planning to revive the project, with Ajay Devgn playing the lead role in the Hindi version and Dhanush in the Tamil version. “Recently Dhanush was holding talks with Bharathbala regarding this film,” say sources.
