Andrea denies ‘affair’ with Sunder

Andrea Jeremiah has played down a claim that her friendship with photographer-actor Sunder (who played Dhanush’s friend in ‘Mayakkam Enna’) could turn into love. “He will always be my best friend, that’s it,” she said.

Last week, Sunder claimed that he and Andrea share a very close friendship and there are chances for it to blossom into love. “A respectable relationship exists between us now. We don’t see any problem if our friendship becomes love,” he said.

Reacting to this, Andrea said, “I know Sunder for more than 10 years. Our friendship started when we were acting in stage plays. For the past one decade, love did not happen between us. So there are no chances for it in future too.”

An actress-singer-theatre personality, Andrea is currently shooting with Kamal Haasan for ‘Viswaroopam’. “Kamal is a power house of cinema. He is donning multiple hats (director, producer, and protagonist) in Viswaroopam, yet he is so cool on sets,” she said.

The film stars Rajesh, Munnar Ramesh, Victoria, Vidya, Sharan and Raghu in the lead and has music by Siddharth Vipin.

The makers are confident about the venture and are confident that it will fetch them rave reviews. It is gearing up for a release shortly.

Vishnu-Hansika film: Bull on the loose creates panic

Vishnu Babu and Hansika Motwani were shooting on Sunday at a village near Tirupathi.  It was a fighting scene for which bulls were used.  Quite unexpectedly, the bulls went on the loose, injuring two unit members in the process.  A Red Camera was completely broken too.

Vishnu has said that the shooting resumed after the two injured assistants were hospitalised in a near-by hospital.

The schedule will continue till the 30th of this month.  The makers are planning to shoot two songs in Bangkok starting April 4.  The film is produced by G Nageshwara Reddy.

Sandhya’s ‘Masters’ stroke

She may not be getting any meaty roles in Tamil. But the ‘Kadhal’ girl is doing projects in Malayalam and Kannada. Soon, she will leave for Kerala to promote her forthcoming release, ‘Masters’.

In ‘Masters’, which is touted to be a suspense thriller, Sandhya is sharing the screen space with Prithviraj, her co-star in Kollywood movie ‘Kannamoochi Enada’. And the actress is thrilled about her role in it.

“I play a college girl in Masters. It’s a meaty role and I am happy to be part of the film,” says Sandhya. She will be seen with three other actresses – Mithra Kurien (of ‘Kaavalan’ fame), Piaa Bajpai and Ananya – in ‘Masters’. Interestingly all these damsels are popular in Kollywood as well.

Expressing her wish to sign a Tamil movie soon, Sandhya says, “I would love to do a Kollywood project soon. But it should provide me with good scope to perform. I am eagerly waiting for it.”

Jayasurya demands his due

Even after trying to give the maximum difference to his characters to  the Malayalee audience who wants change, Jayasuriya feels that he is not getting his due. The star who has proved himself to be a versatile one, playing the lead, villain, and supporting actor in simultaneous films observes that the viewers here are not giving him the right accolades and supports for the efforts that he is taking. The actor points out that if the success of ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Beautiful’ were in Tamil, the appreciations could have been much different. Jayasuriya who debuted as a comedy hero, now wishes to see himself in more serious roles, though even it be in the supporting cast.

Jayasuriya’s latest movies in the offer include the very diverse ones like ‘Pigman’ ArdhaNareeshwaran,’ ‘Paathiramanal’, ‘Husbands in Goa’, ‘Evening Batch’, ‘Mayflower ‘ and ‘Vadhyar’.

Shruti clears the air on rumours

Shruti Haasan was in Hyderabad the other day to take part in the audio launch of the Telugu version of ’3′, and the Gabbar Singh girl utilized the opportunity to clear the air on rumours doing rounds about her personal life.

Talking to journalists, she said, “I have worked with Dhanush in 3. He is a nice colleague. This is the only relationship that exists between me and him. And there is no place for anything beyond this.”

Ask about her much talked about break-up with Siddharth, she said, “There was no relationship and hence, no break-up. Like how I am, Siddharth too is a thorough professional and we worked together in a couple of films.”

Shruti expressed hope that ’3′ would become a hit in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. “Working with Dhanush and Aishwarya was a very nice experience. It’s a nice script and Aishwarya has filmed it in an impressive way. My character in this film is very dear to me, I hope audience like it as well”

In another interview, Shruthi has been quoted as saying that 3 is much more than Kolaveri Di.  She said she accepted to do the film because she liked the script.

Pawan’s second heroine

Those of you who might have hoped to see an Anushka opposite Power Star are in for disappointment.  For Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu will star ‘s Teen Maar pair, Kirthi Karbanda (that girl in traditional attire with a million dollar smile on her face), as Kajal Agarwal’s second fiddle.

In her latest release, Mr. Nookayya, Kirthi was seen in a sobbing role.  Though there was no much scope for her to show her acting prowess, she was fine throwing up beautiful smiles.  A lookalike of the singer Sunitha, Kirthi possesses a mature demeanour.

Frankly put, she hasn’t had the opportunity to showcase her acting prowess in the films she did in the past.  Hope Kirthi’s fortunes get transformed by PJ’s midas touch.

‘King and Commissioner’ Going To Big!

Mollywood is gearing up for the biggest release of the year in ‘ The king and the Commissioner’, – a multi-starrer featuring megastar Mammootty and Sureshgopi, once again in the gang of Ranji Panikkar and Shaji Kailas. A different genre of a sequel which unites two  hit characters from two big hits’- Joseph Alex Thevallyparambil I A S of ‘The King” and Bharath Chandran I P S of ‘The Commissioner’, this reunion has already made it the most expected movie of the year.

The release of the movie coincides with a crucial juncture in the career of its lead stars and the director, who all are ailing without any success for almost an year. While Mammootty is facing the viewers after five flop movies in a row, Sureshgopi’s latest movies are in a pathetic stage with not even managing an average opening. The case of the director Shaji Kailas, who had delivered a lot of hits in the late nineties in not much different. His last half a dozen movies didn’t made their respective producers happy, with a few like ‘Drona’ and ‘ August 15′ sinking terribly in the Box Office.

As the big film which was in the shoot for almost eight months is finally complete, the producer of the movie Anto Joseph  is making no stones unturned to create a big hit out of the it. The movie already has got adequate prepublicity, as the makers are planning to open it in 200 plus centres in the country of which 150 will be within the state. The reservations in the theatres have started at least six days ago and this time, the makers believe that they may not falter in producing a hit.
