One of Ajith’s favorite directors Vishnuvardhan is all set to direct Ajith again. Good news for music lovers is – this soon-to-be-titled venture will have music by Vishnu’s lucky mascot, Yuvan.
While there were reports in some circles of the media that Yuvan might not be doing the music for this Vishnuvardhan film, the director has quashed all such news as baseless rumors and re-confirmed that the film will have music by Yuvan.
The director is also believed to have revealed recently that all his films with Yuvan’s music have always become popular because he neither intervenes with the musician’s tunes nor gives him ideas.
It was this trio that rocked in ‘Billa’ (2007), and now they are coming together for another film, to repeat history all over again!
This will be Ajith’s 52nd film and Vishnu is busy with the pre-production works in full throttle. While there are some rumors that this film would be a Tamil remake of the director’s Telugu film ‘Panjaa,’ others express that this film will not be a remake and Vishnu is penning a new script for Ajith.
Whatever it may be, we can be assured of one slick entertainer featuring Ajith with Yuvan’s music.
Thala is on a fast track, so to say. Much ahead than expected, the shooting of Ajith’s 51st film ‘Billa 2′, directed by Chakri Toleti, has been wrapped. The climax scene was shot on a grand scale in Georgia recently.
“Ajith has two projects in store him. One is to be helmed by Vishnuvardhan, the ‘Billa’ man, and the other by ‘Siruthai’ fame Siva. Ajith will start shooting for them soon and 2012 will be a year to celebrate for his fans,” say circles close to him.
Both the projects are yet to be titled as of now. While the Siva-directed venture will be produced by the reputed Vijaya Productions on the centenary of its founder Nagi Reddy, the Vishnuvardhan-Ajith film is expected to be funded by a corporation production house.
Meanwhile, Chakri Toleti will soon start the post production works of ‘Billa 2′. “Re-recording, editing and other works will go on for two to three months. The movie will hit the screens as a big summer treat,” sources say.
The ‘Siruthai’ man is brimming with joy, as he has got an offer of his lifetime- to direct Ajith. “I am a big fan of the Thala. I never imagined that I will be the director of one of his movies,” says the filmmaker.
Siva, who is popular in Tollywood, is currently making a Telugu movie with Ravi Teja and Taapsee playing the lead roles. “I am eager to start my next film with Ajith. It is no doubt the biggest gift I have received till date,” he says.
Recalling how he landed on the offer, he says, “In one of my earlier interviews, I said that I would like to make an English movie with Ajith playing the protagonist. I didn’t know whether he read it or not. But one morning, I got a call from Thala, saying he wants to work with me.”
Siva adds: “I was on cloud nine and was in fail of words to express my happiness. I immediately rushed to meet Ajith and narrated him a storyline. He was so impressed with it and the rest, as they say, is history.” To be produced by Vijaya Productions, the yet-to-be-titled movie will hit the floors soon.
Today is the 100th day of ‘Mankatha’, one of the important films of ‘Thala’ Ajith and his fans. But there will be no big celebrations as the Thala is not interested at taking part in functions.
‘Mankatha’ is one of the very few blockbusters of 2011. And it witnessed the biggest opening in the recent years, after Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran’. “There was near 100 per cent occupancy in cinema halls in the first week,” trade sources recall.
According to producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri, the two important strengths of the movie, apart from Ajith, are director Venkat Prabhu and music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The producer has thanked those who had worked for the movie on its 100th day.
The 50th film of the ‘Thala’ had Arjun, Trisha, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai, Andrea Jeremiah, Premgi Amaran and Vaibhav Reddy playing crucial roles. Produced by Dhayanidhi’s Cloud Nine Movies, it was distributed by Sun Pictures in association with Radaan.
Director Vishnuvardhan is getting ready for the release of his Telugu film Panjaa, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan. He has said that after this film hits the screens, he will begin the work for his next project starring Ajith.
The director was to have teamed up with Ajith for Billa 2, but the delay forced him to opt out and move on to Panjaa. Eventually, Chakri Toleti is directing Ajith in Billa 2 and the film is expected to hit the screens in April 2012.
When Ajith is free of Billa 2, he will join Vishnuvardhan’s camp, say sources.
