As many as 20 security guards are maintaining strict vigil on the sets of Karthi Sivakumar’s yet-to-be-titled film with director Suraj, to protect a palatial house set, that was erected inside a forest in Chalakudy area of Kerala.
The reason is ‘disturbance’ from elephants. It is said that the jumbos, which regularly pass through the particular area to have water, triggered panic among the unit members during night time.
“Following this, 20 security guards are deployed round the clock to protect the set, which was erected on a huge cost. They safeguard the set from elephants, however without causing any harm to them,” sources say.
Meanwhile, talking about the film, Suraj says, “It is an action entertainer with no dearth for comedy. Karthi and Anushka shared a great chemistry in front of the camera and the movie will be a complete treat to one and all.”
It is well-known that Srikanth Addala and Dil Raju have been on a look-out for Venkatesh’s heroine in their forthcoming film Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Earlier, the names of Trisha, Bhumika and Sneha were mooted for the role, but now it seems that the makers have a new choice in Anushka.
The news is that a meeting with the actress was arranged in which the role was narrated to her. She rumouredly liked the role and even expressed her willingness to allot the call sheets.
As was reported earlier, the role has got negative shades to it. Since Venky’s wife would be Mahesh’s vadinamma in the film, there was so much cogitation over who should be picked for the role. It was being said till recently that Sneha might become the final choice since she has not acted with Mahesh till date.
Coming back to Anushka, the choice seems appropriate because she is an actress who can pull off any performance-oriented role, whatever the shades, with ease.
Friday was 11-11-11. Not ready to miss this unique date, director Suraj started shooting his next film, which has Karthi Sivakumar and Anushka in lead roles. According to sources, the movie hit the floors on a wooden bungalow set erected at Chalakudy in Kerala.
“Suraj, who is known for his commercial entertainers, is bouncing back with this movie. The yet-to-be-titled venture is an action-comedy entertainer. Karthi has almost completed shooting for Saguni, and will now turn his focus on this Suraj-directed movie,” sources say.
Popular cinematographer Saravanan, who had directed STR starrer ‘Silambattam’, will wield the camera, while music is by Devi Sri Prasad. “Known for completing shootings on a fast track, Suraj is expected to wrap up the film at the earliest to make it hit the screens for summer,” add sources.
This is first time for Karthi and Anushka to come together. Though it was rumoured that both would share the screen space in ‘Siruthai’, the Tamil remake of Tollywood hit ‘Vikramarkudu’ which had Anushka in the lead, Tamannah romanced Karthi in the commercial entertainer.
This one’s straight from the horse’s mouth. Director AL Vijay has confirmed that Vikram is playing a police officer in his forthcoming film, which will have Anushka and Amy Jackson as heroines.
“It will be an edge of the seat action thriller. It is a conscious decision that the genre should be entirely different when we (Vijay and Vikram) come together after Deiva Thirumagal,” says the filmmaker.
To be produced by UTV Motion Pictures, the movie will be mostly shot abroad, especially the United States. Only certain portions will be canned in India and Vijay has left for the US to zero in on the locations. Shooting will kick-start at the US this December. The film will be a UTV Dhananjeyan & Ronnie Screwala production venture.
The shooting will start next month and will be completed in one go. It is being planned to release the film by May 2012, as a summer treat to the audience. Cinematography will be by Nirav Shah and editing by Antony while music by G V Prakash Kumar.
With Anushka opted out of the ‘Rebel’ project directed by Raghava Larencce and produced by J Bhagawan and J Pulla Rao on the banner of Sri Balaji Cine Media with Prabhas as hero, the director immediately contacted Tamanna and made her to sign the dotted line for the movie.
The third schedule of Rebel is slated to begin in Hyderabad from September 15.
Giving details about the progress of the film, producers say, ‘We are planning our third schedule from September 15 in Hyderabad. The schedule would continue without any break and the unit would complete the shooting in Hyderabad and leave for Bangkok and would wrap up the shooting with Vizag schedule. Prabhas and Tamanna are pairing up for the first time, while Deeksha Seth is playing another heroine. We are very happy for doing a hit film with a hero like Prabhas. We will never forget the cooperation extended by Prabhas in the film production. Moreover, Larencce too is not compromising on any occasion and is committed to bring out a super hit film. We are thrilled for bringing out such a high budget film and it would be the career’s highest budget film for Prabhas too.’
Prabhas says, ‘My look would be different in this film after ‘Mr Perfect’. The film would be quite stylish to suit the title ‘Rebel’. Larencce is bringing out the film in an extraordinary manner. The film has all kinds of elements the audiences would expect from my film.’
Director says, ‘The story of the film would suit at its best to Prabhas’ personality and image. Such kind of film should be done by Prabhas and none others. The producers are cooperating in every matter and we are sure that the film would be a definite hit.’
