AR Murugadoss directed ‘Thupaki’ is shooting at a brisk pace; thanks to the dedication and commitment of its lead star Vijay.Vijay will be portraying a sleek and suave avatar with short hair and a toned body for this film, sources say. This film, as the name suggests, is touted to be a suspense thriller. At the moment the film’s team is shooting at various locations from Mumbai.
The ‘Thupaki’ director recently was lavish in his appreciation for his lead star. He revealed that Vijay is a pro who is available at the sets right from dawn to dusk. The film is being shot at real time locations. So the team is taking great care and punctuality in shooting, otherwise the shooting spot would be brimming with commuters.
Vijay has been reported to be shooting for this film non-stop. The actor recently attended the audio release of his film ‘Nanban’ that was held in Coimbatore. This film too has musical notes from Harris’. For this, Vijay took a break from shoot, that too after completing his portions for the day in the morning and then he flew down to attend the function, sources reveal.
‘Thupaki’ sees Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal teaming for the first time ever. The film has cinematography by ace cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan and is produced by Thanu.
As reported earlier, after completing ‘Thupaki’ with AR Murugadoss and ‘Yohan Adhyayam Ondru’ with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vijay will join hands with another leading filmmaker of Tamil cinema, Vijay of ‘Madrasapattinam’ and ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ fame.
“The director, who has just started Thaandavam with Vikram, is ready with a one-liner for the Ilayathalapathy. He will develop it into a full-fledged script after completing Thaandavam. Vijay is happy with the knot narrated to him by AL Vijay,” sources tell us.
While other members of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized, GV Prakash Kumar, the lucky mascot of director Vijay, will compose music for this yet-to-be-titled venture. He is planning to make the top actor to sing a song in the film.
“Vijay has made a decision to work with top-notch directors alone in the coming years. His last venture Velayudham was helmed by Jayam Raja, while his next Nanban is by Shankar. And his forthcoming films are by Murugadoss, Gautham and AL Vijay,” sources point out.
Shooting for Vijay and AR Murugadoss’s film, Thuppaki has begun today in Mumbai. The first schedule will be completed there. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine of this film. The crew is comprised of heavyweights like Santhosh Sivan, Thotta Tharani, and Sreekar Prasad. Harris Jeyaraj will be doing the music.
There have been reports that Vijay is playing a cop in the film but both Vijay and Murugadoss are being highly reticent about plot details. The director has said that he does not like to discuss his films till they are completed and has requested the media to be responsible and not spread unnecessary rumors.
This gun (tupaki) has a disagreement going with it. Director Jinka Harish Babu, who is making film on terrorism, is disheartened that AR Murugadoss’ film starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal has been given the permission to be released with the title of Tupaki in Telugu. The bone of contention is that he had registered this particular title for his film on Jun. 30.
He says that the title cannot be permitted to be used by anyone else. Mr. Babu wonders how the film chamber could have allowed this to happen.
Mr. Babu says that he did not give the title to anyone else, nor did anyone approach him for permission. However, the film is set to go on the floors since the subject is already ready.
In the AR Murugadoss film, Vijay is playing a Mumbai dada, reports some sources in Kollywood. Though this fact has not been confirmed either by AR Murugadoss or Vijay, the news has started to make rounds.
The film has not been titled yet and AR Murugadoss is expected to announce the title any time now. However, the speculations on Vijay’s role in this film have started to make rounds. As per some reports in Kollywood, Vijay’s role in the movie will be similar to that of Kamal Haasan’s in Nayagan.
Yet another news that we hear on this project is that the film will begin in Tiruchendur and it will show Vijay’s transition as dada in Mumbai.
