Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Kaviarasu Vairamuthu will unveil the audio of the Tamil version of ‘Urumi’, one of the best films in Malayalam cinema till date. The audio launch will take place tomorrow (November 15) at the Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai.
‘Urumi’ by celebrated cinematographer-cum-director, Santosh Sivan, has a host of stars including Prithviraj, Arya, Prabhu Deva, Genelia D’ Souza and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. The film also has guest appearances by Vidya Balan and Tabu. Music has been composed by Deepak Dev.
The film has a different take on Vasco Da Gama and his expeditions.
Also present at the event will be top-notch film personalities including Mani Ratnam and AR Murugadoss.
The success of ‘Engaeyum Eppothum’ has taken director Saravanan to places. The filmmaker’s next will feature Arya in the lead role and it will be produced by Tirupathi Brothers, a production firm run by ace director Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra Bose.
According to sources, Lingusamy, who recently watched ‘Engaeyum Eppothum’, was mighty impressed with the talent of this former associate of AR Murugadoss, and immediately expressed his willingness to produce the second film of Saravanan.
Saravanan, who was only very happy to accept the offer, met Lingusamy at his office later and discussed a storyline. With Lingu giving go-ahead, the young director has zeroed in on Arya to play the protagonist in this youthful love story.
Remember Lingusamy is currently directing Arya for ‘Vettai’, which is on the verge of completion. “The yet to be titled film will go on floors once Arya finishes off Vettai. Other details related to the project are currently being worked out,” say sources.
Everyone seems to have caught the remake fever. The latest on this is Prakash Jha’s Hindi political thriller Rajneeti which is likely to be remade in Tamil. UTV Motion Pictures is particularly keen on doing the remake in Tamil.
As of now, it has been suggested that Arya and Madhavan will be essaying the roles portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn respectively. Bharath might in all likelihood do Arjun Rampal’s role. Talks are on with Prakash Raj and Sathyaraj to do some key roles. Lingusamy has been approached to wield the directorial baton.
She flew into the hearts of film lovers in Tamil Nadu with ‘Mynaa.’ ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ stamped her as the next talent down south in the minds of the movie-going audience. Amala Paul soon began signing films successively with good banners and popular heroes in Tamil.
Apart from treading on a path with good films coming her way, Amala Paul is also graduating in her bachelor’s degree from a college in Ernakulam, in less than six months. This dame from God’s Own Country is quite happy for the fact that she is able to balance her career and education with due importance, though at the moment, she spends more time as an actress.
Amala will also be launching herself in Telugu starring opposite Naga Chaithanya. In Tamil she is doing a film with Adarvaa titled ‘Mupozhudhum Un Karpanaigal.’ Amala will also be seen in Linguswamy’s ‘Vettai’ along with Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Arya.
The actress will soon do a film with Siddharth titled ‘Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi.’ Though the actress is neck deep in films, she will take a small break as she is getting ready to celebrate Onam which falls next week!
Sameera Reddy is a very loyal person. Though she has made many good friends in the Tamil industry she will never forget the first one. It is none other than Gautham Menon who noticed her potential and gave her a role in Vaaranam Aayiram that made people sit up and take notice. Gautham also gave her a meaty role in Nadunisi Naaigal and she shone as the damsel in distress who is kidnapped by a psychopath. This film established her as one of the few heroines who has the looks as well as the acting chops.
The top director and Sameera became good friends and still keep in touch. Sam even revealed that if her first director were to approach her for a film, she’ll accept blindly since he would have definitely come up with something super exciting and perfectly suited to her talents. As for new friends, Sam said that the Vettai team – Maddy, Arya, Amala Paul and Lingusamy are all good pals and she is loving working with them.
